New School Sites
  • The New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) is proposing the development of a new public school facility with a total capacity of approximately 444-seats for Community School District No. 24 in Queens. The proposed site contains a total of approximately 29,000 square feet of lot area (0.67 acres) and is located on the southwest side of Seneca Avenue between De Kalb Avenue and Stockholm Street in the Ridgewood section of Queens. The site  is currently occupied by a former parochial school building and is owned by the St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church. The SCA will continue to accept public comments on this proposal until May 5, 2012.

  • The New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) is proposing the development of a new primary/intermediate school facility with a total capacity of approximately 480-seats for Community School District No. 3 in Manhattan. The proposed site is located at the southwest corner of West 61st Street and West End Avenue on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and is part of the larger Riverside Center development. The proposed site is located within a new mixed use building ("Building No.2") that will be constructed as part of Riverside Center. Under the proposed project, on behalf of the New York City Department of Education, the New York City School Construction Authority would acquire a total of approximately 100,000 gross square feet within Building No.2 to accommodate the proposed primary/intermediate school facility. The SCA will continue to accept public comments on this proposal until April 19, 2012.

  • The New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) is proposing the development of a new public school facility with a total capacity of approximately 379-seats for Community School District No. 11 in the Bronx. The proposed site contains a total of approximately 23,750 square feet of lot area (0.55 acres) and is located on the north side of Rhinelander Avenue between Eastchester Road and Stillwell Avenue in the Bronx. The proposed site consists of the paved section of a much larger property that contains an existing former private school building that is in the process of being renovated for charter school use. The SCA will continue to accept public comments on this proposal until April 19, 2012.

  • The New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) is proposing the development of a new public school facility with a total capacity of approximately 379-seats for Community School District No. 29 in Queens. The proposed site contains a total of approximately 22,250 square feet of lot area (0.51 acres) and is located at 199-02 112th Avenue, on the south side of 112th Avenue between 199th and 200th Streets in the St. Albans section of Queens. The site contains an existing building that was originally constructed and used as a Roman Catholic high school facility and is currently owned by the Police Athletic League. The SCA will continue to accept public comments on this proposal until April 19, 2012.

  • The New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) is proposing the development of a new public school facility with a total capacity of approximately 440-seats for Community School District No. 30 in Queens. The proposed site contains a total of approximately 27,000 square feet of lot area (0.62 acres) and is located on the south side of 39th Avenue between 57th and 58th Streets in the Woodside section of Queens. The site is privately-owned and is currently being used as commercial printing facility and residences. The SCA will continue to accept public comments on this proposal until April 19, 2012.
