AE/BCC/CID/CM Issues and Resolutions

The Issues and Resolutions spreadsheet is a list of items for which there are, or have the potential to become, objections, or that have different interpretations by the various divisions (A&E, BCC, CID, CM) or individuals within those divisions. The objective is to have a resolution that all four divisions agree to and to disseminate the resolution to staff members so that they understand the agency's position on the subject. It is intended as a live document and will be updated as additional questions and issues are resolved.

The Issues and Resolutions spreadsheet is viewed in a PDF format; it has been provided for those items resolved through April 30, 2017.

PW1B Designations

Due to various interpretations as to what constitutes a fixture and the number of fixtures on the PW1B (the plumbing schedule B), the following table is being provided as a guide as to what classification and number of fixtures are to be indicated on the form based on the type of SCA fixtures used on a project. It is not an all inclusive list but provides a good set of guidelines for those items that are sometimes questioned as to the proper designation by both designers and inspectors.

The BCC Plan Review Standard Objection Desk Guide lists the standard plan review objections issued by the Building Code Compliance (BCC) Division's Plan Examiners, which is a resource that can be used in preparing design documents for BCC/DOB plan review to help facilitate the exam process. It documents the format and procedures relating to objections and has been updated to coincide with the 2008 New York City Building Code.

In addition to the BCC Objection Desk Guide, another resource to assist the designer in preparing documents for BCC/DOB plan examination is the NYCDOB Plan Examination Guidelines.
